Yesterday evening, I attended a Dr Sketchy's event in Chester:
a burlesque pageant (and competition) on the theme of "Out of this
World". There was a groovy 60s / 70s vibe, and a profusion of very homemade costumes
- couldn't help noticing a number of hairdryers dressed as futuristic
guns for the occasion - all great fun! The slight downside was that the
competitors did not really understand the term "holding a pose" and
moved about pretty much constantly; however, the challenge is part of
the fun.
I took along a recently-bought pad of brown wrapping-paper-coloured paper on which I used black biro and white pastel pencil. Here are some of the results.
Incidentally, you can see more of my work - from Dr Sketchy's and elsewhere - on my Facebook page.
