I have often been asked how I go about producing a painting, and consequently have often thought I should take photos at various stages to show how a painting develops - but I've somehow never got round to doing so. But last Saturday, I remembered to do just that, so here are some photos recording my progress in a small watercolour.
1. The initial washes are applied - still wet in this photo
2. The washes have dried
3. Defining the features and adding depth of tone
4. Ditto!
5. The completed painting. I have added whiskers, but unfortunately they do not show up on the photo very well.
